Leo Weill, 80, of Brimfield, died Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at Akron General Hospital in Akron. He was born October 16, 1929 in New York, NY to Edgar and Martha (Buttner) Weill. Leo was a graduate of Accredited Evening High School, Creedmore State Hospital School of Nursing, received a B.S. from Adelphi College, and his J.D. from the University of Akron Law School. He was a Lt. Colonel in the U. S. Air Force Reserves. He taught at Creedmore State Hospital School of Nursing, and was Director of Nursing at Cambridge State Hospital and Akron City Hospital. Leo also worked for the VA and Social Security as a claims representative. He was Past Master Unity Lodge #12 - Ravenna, Past High Priest Tirian #91 Knights of Templar, Knight Mason Shannon Council, and a member of the Tall Cedars of Lebanon. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church of Ravenna. He was active in the South Portage Rotary Club, Military Officers Association of America (MOAA), and the Portage County Republican Party. He is survived by daughter, Bonnie Weill of Brimfield; son, Ed (Jane) Weill of Rohnert Park, CA; and grandson, Patrick Weill. He was preceded in death by his wife, Pat Weill; and sister, Louise Etzinger. Funeral services will be held 4:00 PM Tuesday, August 10th at Bissler & Sons Funeral Home in Kent with Pastor Daniel Caruso officiating. The family will receive friends one hour before the services. Private burial will be in Restland Cemetery in Brimfield.
