Lloyd “Lee” Earl Atkinson, age 63, of Kent, OH, passed away on Wednesday, February 1, 2023 at his home.
Lloyd was born August 10, 1959 in Ravenna, OH to Lloyd Atkinson and the late Lori (England) Diezman.
Lee graduated from Theodore Roosevelt High School and was a lifelong resident of Kent, OH. Lee was skilled in many trades including repair, painting, and restoration of automotives. Throughout his lifetime he practiced these in his occupation as well as his hobby. He continued his career path working as a rigging operator for Keller Hall and later joined the team at Horning Builder Supply Co. to work as a cement mixer driver.
Lee was a lifelong motorcycle enthusiast and was well known for hosting an annual Father’s Day Motorcycle ride. He enjoyed staying busy and during his retirement, he joined his son Cody to work at State 8 Motorcycles. Wherever Lee went, his charismatic personality and infectious smile could be immediately felt by all.
He especially enjoyed the warm summer nights that he could spend outdoors by the pool, cooking on the grill or enjoying a bonfire. Everyone that knew Lee was aware of his love of the Cleveland Browns. He would often host gatherings with friends to watch the football games. Above all, Lee was a family man and especially loved spending time with his new granddaughter Mia.
He is survived by his wife, Josette (Pacic) Atkinson; sons, Jesse Atkinson Cody (Alyssa) Atkinson; daughter, Angel O’Brien; stepson, Gerry Keefer; father, Lloyd Atkinson; brothers, Mark, Matt, and Steve Atkinson; sisters, Sherri Atkinson, Cassie Rhinehart, stepsisters, Tonya and Brandi Meal and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother, Lori Diezman.
Celebration of Life will be on Sunday, February 26th from 2:00 – 4:00 PM. It will be held at 126 Lake St. Kent, OH 44240, well known as “The Shop.”
