Lois E Streeter died on July 18, 2011surrounded by her loving family. She recently celebrated her 99th birthday in Hiram with her church and community.
She leaves two daughters Barbara Pancost (Roy) of Hiram and Caroll Brode (Sue) of Kent. She also leaves 7 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren who loved her as GG. Lois was preceded in death by her husband Jack, her daughters Jacquelyn and Anne.
Lois was born in 1912 in New York State and lived there until she packed up three small daughters and came to Ohio in 1942. She lived in Hiram for 69 years. She worked at the Hiram Co-op, the Hiram telephone office, and Hiram College. Many remember her as the school secretary at Hiram School.
Lois became a member of the Hiram Christian Church in the 1970's. She loved her church community. She was at one time a Deacon and enjoyed helping with the church newsletter. She was a founding member of the Hiram Fellowship in the 1950's and loved playing Bridge with her friends, reading mysteries and doing crossword puzzles. She was a loving mother and grandmother who welcomed many to her extended family. She left a legacy of love.
Lois wanted all those who sent their love and support through cards, letters and calls to know that she was grateful and loved ya right back!
Special thanks from her family to the exceptional care and support from Ravenna Visiting Nurse and Hospice, (Stacey, Vickie, Chris and Dina, and the volunteers who stayed with her Connie and Anna). Thanks to her caregiver Dina who cared for her and kept her alert and brought humor to her life. Thank you also, to the incredible nursing and support staff at RMH in the last week that cared for her with skill, kindness and caring. There is no way to thank you sufficiently for your support during this time.
A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held in August. The date to be announced. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery in Hiram. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be sent to the Hiram Christian Church, P.O. Box 937, Hiram, OH 44234.
