Louis Samuel Copeland Iii

Louis Samuel Copeland III, 61, of Ravenna was called by the Lord, after a lengthy illness in the early morning hours of February 28th, at Longmeadow Care Center.  He was born August 20, 1962 in Springfield, OH. He attended local schools in Portage County and graduated in 1981 from Ravenna High School.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis Samuel Copeland, II and Betty (Woods) Copeland, and sister, Mercer (Copeland) Johnson.

Mr. Copeland is survived by his son, Quinton Johnson (Katelyn) of Streetsboro, Ohio; brothers, Michael Copeland of Missouri and John Louis Meeks Sr. (Andrea) of Orange Park, Florida; his granddaughters, Faith, Harmony, Kaydence, and Ziamara; nephew, John L. Meeks, Jr. and niece,  Ashlee JaNear Meeks of Jacksonville, Florida; cousins, Harold T. Collins, Cindy Singleton, Cheryl Collins, and Harvey Dean Collins and an extended family of relatives and friends.

A special thank you to devoted cousin Harold Collins, Reverend Dr. W.C. Watts Jr., Tony Triplett, Doria Daniels, Minnie Green, and Dr. Leonne Hudson for going above and beyond to care for him.

The family extends sincere gratitude to the staff and residents at the Longmeadow Care Center of Ravenna, Ohio for their love and friendship, and to the staff of Hospice of the Western Reserve of Cleveland, Ohio for the respect and compassionate care provided.
