Lowell Ross Lemmons

June 28, 1940 — September 19, 2024

Brimfield

Lowell Ross Lemmons, 84, of Brimfield went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 19, 2024 with his family by his side.  He fought a lingering illness with all he had and with his family’s care.

He was born in Weston, WV on June 28, 1940 to the late Ross and Margaret (West) Lemmons.  On March 4, 1961, he married Peggy (Warner) Lemmons at Stonecoal Methodist Church in Weston, WV.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Betty Lemmons Crawford.

He leaves his loving wife Peggy; beloved son Kevin Lowell Lemmons (Pam); daughter Rossetta Lemmons Howard (Mark); grandchildren, Sheena Lemmons of Phoenix, AZ, Heather Lemmons (James Rudish) of Mogadore, OH and Donald Lowell Lemmons (Serenity) of Rootstown, OH; great grandchildren, Finnie Patton, Aeris Lemmons, Lydia Rose Rudish and Arlo Lowell Lemmons; several wonderful nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and great-great nieces and nephews; and his brother-in-law Dick Crawford.

Lowell’s second home was Hog Hollow, WV.  He and his wife Peggy spent many years there with their wonderful family.  He was an avid hunter, and they had many incredible meals on the wood grill.  Peg and Lowell, her best friend and wonderful husband were able to see all 50 states.

He was a union carpenter for 40 years, working with his son Kevin on many large buildings and commercial jobs in Cleveland and Columbus.  He was a very talented man who built his own home, helped Kevin rebuild his house and helped build Rossetta and Mark’s house.  He also helped his grandson Donnie on many days and nights remodeling his house.

He was quite an artist, and his favorite hobby was turning bowls on his wood lathe.   His family was his life, and he leaves some wonderful neighbors and church friends.

The family would like to thank UH Portage and UH Cleveland for the wonderful care, especially the resident Dr’s and wonderful nurses.

A special thank you to Pastor’s and friends Karen and Don Upson.  They were there for Lowell constantly with many trips to Cleveland, Ravenna and home with many prayers and visits.  Thank you to Western Reserve Hospice was fantastic with the care and support at home.
