Lynda A. (Smith) Crock

Lynda A. Crock, 69, passed away surrounded by the love of her family on February 23, 2024. She was born on April 10, 1954 in Ravenna, Ohio to the late Robert and Anna (Durst) Smith. Lynda married her high school sweetheart, Tom Crock, in 1972 and began a lifetime of beautiful memories. Tom and Lynda celebrated 52 wedding anniversaries together. Their devotion to each other knew no limits and her love for him was evident through her smile each time she saw him.

In addition to her husband, Lynda is survived by her daughter, Lisa McCann; son, Tom (Ashley) Crock; grandsons Aidan, Liam, and Ryan McCann; and granddaughters Charley, Maisie, and Nora Crock. Also surviving are her brothers, Bob (Ann), Tom, and Bill Smith, and sisters Sandi (Lenny, deceased) Houtz and Deb (Don, deceased) Pritchett.

A Ravenna High School graduate, Lynda worked for 32 years at the Portage County Engineers Office as an Accounts Payable clerk. Lynda retired and lived the remainder of her life caring for and thinking of others. Her faithful four-legged companion, Benny, shared his days with her. She was the planner of family events, decorator and baker of the most magnificent cakes, and ensured every gathering was memorable. Lynda spent much of her life supporting her children through all of their adventures, and attending their sporting events, horse shows, and 4-H events. She cherished her grandchildren and loved being with them, watching them play sports and participate in their many activities. Her creativity and artistic abilities were enjoyed by all who knew her and she loved painting, drawing, crafting, quilting, sewing, crocheting, and gardening. Her practical joke skills were unmatched as her wit and sense of humor always provided a good laugh. Lynda was a remarkable woman with a uniqueness that will forever be missed.

In addition to her parents, Lynda was preceded in death by her father and mother-in-law, Edward and Margaret Crock.

Friends and family will be received Monday, March 4, 2024 from 10:00AM-11:00AM at Bissler and Sons Funeral Home and Crematory, with a memorial service to follow at 11:00AM at the funeral home. Inurnment will follow at Grandview Memorial Park, Lakewood Rd., Ravenna.
