Margaret Ann Holzapfel, 66, of Randolph, died Wednesday, April 20, 2011 at Robinson Memorial Hospital in Ravenna.
She was born December 14, 1944 in Ravenna to Paul and Ann (Smith) Jaqua. She was a graduate of Kent State University with a Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology. Following graduation, she went to work for Robinson Memorial Hospital where she retired in 1998 with 33 years of service. She returned to work for RMH at Kent Imaging for ten years, retiring again in 2010. She also worked part time for Alliance Community Hospital for 20 years. She loved her work, serving and helping patients. She served in the US Army Reserve as a 1st Lieutenant with the 350th Evacuation Hospital in Canton. She was fiercely proud of her children and family.
She is survived by her husband, Mark Holzapfel, whom she married on May, 8, 1976; sons, James "Ike" (Monica) Holzapfel of Suffield and David Holzapfel of Akron; grandson, Tad Holzapfel; brothers, Gordon Jaqua of Texas and Richard Jaqua of Switzerland; and sister, Mary Beth Jaqua of Washington;. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Nicholas Holzapfel; and twin brother, James Jaqua.
Calling hours will be held 5-8 PM Monday, April 25th at Bissler & Sons Funeral Home in Kent where funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Tuesday, April 26th with Kevin O'Brien officiating.
