Marie Ann Bennett

Marie Ann Bennett, 92, of Kent, passed away on Sunday, September 29, 2024.  She was born in Kent on August 3, 1932 to the late Raymond and Pearl Kaliszewski and was a 1950 graduate of Kent Roosevelt High School.

Marie was employed as a secretary, first at Twin Coach and for then at Trinity Lutheran Church for 37 years.  She was an active member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, where she attended daily mass up until two years ago.  She enjoyed hot coffee, cake and ice cream and reading the newspaper.  She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Jack C. Bennett on July 11, 2014 and her sister Catherine Kaliszewski.

She leaves her children, Suzie (Doug) Dawes, Mary Bennett, Tina (Lou) Bennett, Mike (Kathie) Bennett and Kathy Bennett; eight grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren with one on the way.

The family would like to send a special thank you to Crossroads Hospice for the wonderful care and support given to Marie.  They would also like to recognize and thank Tiffany and Jared Sellers for welcoming her into their home and caring for her in her last days.

A Mass of Chrisitan Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, October 5, 2024 at 10:00AM at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 313 N. Depeyster St. Kent, OH 44240, with the Rev. Fr. David Bridling and the Rev. Fr. Richard Pentello as Co-Celebrants.  Burial will follow at Standing Rock Cemetery.  Calling hours will be Friday from 5:00-7:00PM at Bissler and Sons Funeral Home, 628 W. Main St. Kent, OH 44240.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to any Police K-9 Unit or to your favorite Animal Rescue Organization.
