Marilyn Mimi Myers

Marilyn Davey "Mimi" Myers, 89, of Kent, died Thursday, April 21, 2011 at Crown Center at Laurel Lakes in Hudson.

She was born February 10, 1922 in Kent, to Paul H. and Maxine (Beckwith) Davey Sr. Marilyn was a 1940 graduate of Kent Roosevelt and 1944 graduate of Oberlin College. She was the granddaughter of John Davey, founder of the Davey Tree Expert Company and daughter of Paul Davey founder of the Davey Compressor Company and a World War 1 veteran. She was the proud wife of Joe Myers, president of several local businesses including Highway Products and Davey Tree. Mimi was a member of the Kent Coterie Club, and enjoyed travel, golf, and horticulture.

She is survived by he son, J. Thomas (Kathy) Myers II of Kent; daughters, Mary (Charles) MacCallum of Hudson and, Lynne (Martin) Erbaugh of Hudson; nine grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph T. Myers; brother, Paul H. Davey Jr., and parents, Paul and Maxine Davey.

Calling hours will be held 12:30 - 1:30 PM Tuesday, April 26 at the United Church of Christ in Kent, funeral services will be held 1:30 PM Tuesday, April 26 with Rev. David Pattee officiating. Burial will be held at Standing Rock Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the United Church of Christ in Kent, 1400 E. Main Street, Kent, Ohio 44240.
