Mark D. Barber, 48, of Ravenna, died Sunday, November 11, 2012 at his home.

He was born November 19, 1963 in Ravenna to Frank and Betty I. (Sigman) Barber. He was a member of First Freedom Baptist Church; and the TriCounty Building Trades, both the Akron Local and the International. Mark was a devoted husband, father and Number 1 Papa. He enjoyed reading the newspaper daily, collecting Harley items, camping with family and cookouts. He was always there to lend knowledge and a helping hand when called upon.

He is survived by his wife, Jean L. (Decker) Barber, whom he married on September 29, 1995; daughters, Jody Taiclet of Ravenna, Megan Sigel of Ravenna, Justine Horton of Ravenna, and Katie Barber of Ravenna; grandchildren, Savannah, Conner, and Achilles; mother, Betty (Sigman) Barber of Ravenna; brothers, Jeffery Barber of Cuyahoga Falls, Charles (Sandra) Barber of Acworth, Georgia, and Jon (Janet) Barber of Rootstown; sisters, Robin Stiles of Kent and Penny (Chris) Warren of Kent. He was preceded in death by his father, Frank H. L. Barber; brother, James L. Barber; and Beloved Dog, Dakota.

We would like to express our thanks to Robinson Radiation Oncology and Robinson Hospice and our family and friends for all their support.

Memorial services will be held 7:00 PM Friday, November 16th at First Freedom Baptist Church, 2171 Tallmadge Road, Brimfield, with Pastor Dan Alexoff officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Mark Barber Memorial Fund, c/o Hometown Bank, 100 E. Main Street, Ravenna OH 44266. Bissler & Sons Funeral Home is handling the services.
