Marvin B. Kirschman, 91, of Kent, died Thursday, July 20, 2017, at Independence Village in Aurora.
He was born October 15, 1925 in Meriden, CT to the late Walter C. and Harriet (Bartholomew) Kirschman. He was a veteran of the Navy during the World War II with service in the South Pacific. A member of the University of Connecticut 1948 national collegiate soccer champion team, he also brought his love of soccer to the children of Sandusky as a coach. He was a member of Christ Episcopal Church in Kent, Shriner Zenobia, Mason Marks Lodge 50+ years, American Legion Post 496 and Fireland Habitat for Humanity original organization member.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn (Sammet) Kirschman, sons, Jeffrey C. (Kathleen) Kirschman of Chagrin Falls, Scott C. Kirschman of Columbus; daughter, Sarah A. (Scott) Lazzara of Stow; 5 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother, Walter C. Kirschman.
Burial will be held in Northford, CT at the family's convenience. Memorial contributions may be made to Habitat for Humanity Firelands 7602 Milan Rd.
