Mary K. Denny, 111, was born in a log cabin in Suffield, OH, on June 10, 1910 to Joseph and Mary K. (Kehener) Bissler and died on Tuesday, September 28, 2021. She was the youngest of seven children. Mary was preceded in death by her brothers, Paul, Carl, Victor and Edmund Bissler; sisters, Ruth Butler and Susie Shanafelt and many nieces and nephews. She is survived by many nieces and nephews.
She married the love of her life, Russ Denny in 1938 and loved to hunt and fish with him. They shared their catch with many over the years.
She has experienced life by foot, bicycle, horse and buggy, car, bus, small planes, big planes and even a flight in the Goodyear Blimp. She even enjoyed the latest technology of cell phones and computers. She eventually gave up driving at 93 years old and lived in her Suffield home until the age of 101. She decided to go into assisted living and currently lived at The Homestead in Hartville.
Mary was a lifelong member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, the oldest parishioner and member of the Altar & Rosary Society.
She watched the EWTN channel on TV and the Catholic Station for daily mass everyday in place of driving to St. Joseph Church like she used to. Mary loved to go to St. Joseph for Mass almost every weekend. She prayed often and had her Rosary with her all the time. She never had children but has been like a mother to so many. She often said, that for the most part, her life has been joyful, and she was thankful for a good mind.
The family asks that donations be made, in her name, to St. Joseph Catholic Church. They would also like to thank The Homestead and Absolute Hospice for the loving care given to Mary.
