Mary Frances Frisina
Mary Frances Frisina, born March 10, 1948 the daughter of Ellen M (Conrad) and Frank Amodio, died Monday, March 7, 2011 at Metro Health Medical Center in Cleveland.
Mary attended Kent Roosevelt High School and was a graduate of Kent State University, receiving her master's degree in Clinical Psychology. She also pursued her doctorate in that field at Case Western Reserve. Mary retired in 2010 from Metro Health Medical Center, where she was employed in the Social Services Department for 26 years.
She is survived by her classmate and husband, Frank Frisina of Brecksville; daughter, Kara Pettit Gabella of Brecksville; sons, Ryan (Alison) Pettit of Fairview Park and Matthew Pettit of Lakewood; grandchildren, Eric Belleville of Brecksville, Jackson Pettit of Fairview Park and Alexa Pettit of Fairview Park; mother, Ellen "Peg" Amodio-Lyman of Kent; brother, Daniel (Wendy) Amodio of Diamond; nephews, Chris (Debbie) Amodio and Terry Amodio; and many beloved cousins. She was preceded in death by her father, Frank Amodio; and Lou Lyman.
Mary's life was devoted to care giving. Her friends are remembering her as extraordinary, kind, thoughtful and generous.
Calling hours will be held 6-9 PM Friday, March 11th at Bissler & Sons Funeral Home in Kent. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 AM Saturday, March 12th at St. Patrick Church in Kent. Burial will be held at Standing Rock Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Ohio Buckeye Chapter, 6155 Rockside Road, Suite 202, Independence, OH 44131.
