Mary "Mitzie" Bise

Mary “Mitzie” Bise, 85, of Kent, passed away on Tuesday, October 29, 2024 in the comfort of her home, with her daughters Tami and Laura by her side. She was born in Baltimore, MD on December 12, 1938 to the late Earl R. and Lillian E. Styche. Mitzie was employed at the Stow Public Library for 12 years. She retired from the Summa Health System in 2002 following 13 years of employment. 

She enjoyed anything crafty, sewing, crocheting, knitting, scrapbooking and crossword puzzles. She enjoyed going to the Yankee Peddler Festival and Shaker Woods Festival and attended Riverwood Community Chapel. Mitzie never met a stranger and had a gift of being able to talk to anyone about anything. She will be deeply missed and never forgotten by those who knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son-in-law Stormy Bowersock and her lifelong friend George Akers.

She leaves her children, Raymond (Joanie) Bise, Michael Bise, Daniel Bise, Darren Bise, Tami Bowersock, Laura Medlin and Darla (Eric) Rowe; grandchildren, Brittany Cope, Meaghan Bise, Craig Medlin and Tara Goss.

In honoring her wishes, Mitzie will be cremated and will be laid to rest at Standing Rock Cemetery at a later date.

The family would like to send a special thank you to the Summa Hospice team for the wonderful care given to Mitzie. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made, in her name, to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or to Shriners Children’s Hospital.
