Mary T. Stueber, 84, of New Concord, Ohio, died Sunday, October 24, 2010 at the Southeastern Regional Medical Center in Cambridge, Ohio after a brief illness. She was born April 14, 1926 in Kent, Ohio, to Howard and LaVerne Young, and was preceded in death by her brother, Earl; and sister, Sister Jean Baptiste, H.M. She had been a member of the St. Cecelia Circle for more than 20 years, was an avid member of the Friday night bridge club while she lived in Kent, worked as a volunteer for the Red Cross blood drives, and was secretary/receptionist for the Children's Mental Health Agency for 13 years prior to her retirement. She enjoyed more than 29 years of wonderful companionship with her partner in life, Robert E. Denney. Her family was always the most important part of her life, and her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren gave her so much joy. She was known as a mischief maker from her early childhood days, and lovingly passed along this attribute to her five children. Often she entertained her family with unexpected spoonerisms. She was "mom" to the neighborhood kids, welcoming whomever passed through her door, often at mealtimes. She took great pleasure in taking home movies; her family particularly relished her "specialty shots". One of her fondest activities was watching the birds, deer and squirrels from her large picture windows. She will be greatly missed by her partner in life, Bob Denny, her five children Robin Anderson (Ron Fisher) of State College, PA; Cheryl Good (Mike Crawford) of Randolph, OH; Kim Stueber (Fran) of Stow, OH; Kyle Stueber (Carla) of Lawrenceville, GA; and Toni Bland (Troy) of Slidell, LA; her sisters Irene Bowen of McLean, VA and Agnes Taylor of Greenville, SC; 7 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. We will miss her and cherish the memories of the joy she brought to each of our lives. We can all find peace in knowing that she is in a better place, resting comfortably. Calling hours will be held 6-8 PM on Tuesday, October 26 at Bissler and Sons Funeral Home 628 West Main Street in Kent. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 1:00 PM Wednesday, October 27th at St. Patrick's Church 313 North DePeyster St., Kent, Ohio, with Father Richard Pentello officiating. Burial will be in Standing Rock Cemetery in Kent.
