Merle "Bud" Wilcox

Merle W. "Bud" Wilcox, 68, of Kent, died Wednesday, September 21, 2011 at Pine Valley Care Center in Richfield.
He was born May 1, 1943 in Streetsboro, to Merle E. and Martha L. (Fear) Wilcox. He graduated from Crestwood High School in 1961-1962, where he was an all-star basketball player. Bud worked the family farm, was a school bus driver for Hudson City Schools and worked as a machinist until retirement from Morse Controls of Hudson. Bud was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed dog field trials, hunting, fishing, gardening and sports.
He is survived by daughter, Candi (Don) Venus of Richfield; sons, Bradley (Rebecca) Wilcox of Georgia and Charles Wilcox of Kent; eight grandchildren; and sister, Joanne (Robert) Davenport of Streetsboro. He was preceded in death by his parents, Merle and Martha Wilcox; and sister, Beverly Wilcox.
Funeral services will be held 2 PM Saturday, October 1st at Bissler & Sons Funeral Home 628 West Main Street, Kent, where calling hours will be held from 1 PM until time of service. Burial will be held at Evergreen Cemetery, Streetsboro.
