Nora Granat Kegley, 86, of Stow, formerly of Kent passed away peacefully on July 8, 2021, surrounded by family.
Born in Cambridge Springs, PA on November 30, 1934, to the late Joseph “Teddy” and Susana (Pratus) Granat.
A graduate of Kent State University, she was involved with multiple organizations that gave back to the communities in which she lived, including KSU Chi Omega, University Women, Chestnut Society, Coterie II, Master Gardeners, Herb Society, Quilting and Needlework Groups, Playhouse Square Red Coats, and was instrumental in helping create the Virginia Hamilton Conference at KSU.
She and Chuck treasured their family, living overseas, traveling the world, birdwatching, gardening and being creative. Watching her kids and grandchildren succeed and blossom in all they do was important to her. She had an infectious smile and sense of humor, was a great conversationalist and always willing to help others.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years Charles (Chuck) Kegley; children, Sheri (Tony) Maloy, David (Melissa) Kegley, Sue (Greg) Cudworth; grandchildren include, Stefani (Nick) Demas, Sarah Shaffer (Davy Hagar), Justin, Morgan and Devon Kegley, Alli and Sophi Cudworth; great-grandchildren, Theo, Ruby and Nellie Demas.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, July 18, 2021, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Bissler & Sons Funeral Home 628 W Main St, Kent OH 44240. In lieu of flowers, plant some seeds in your garden or in the lives of those you love. Special thanks to Hospice of Western Reserve and all the loving caregivers.
