Owen Moore Duffy, 94, of Aurora, OH, passed away Thursday, September 12, 2013 at Independence Village in Aurora, OH.
He was born February 15, 1919 in Corning, OH to John and Elizabeth (Sarvis) Duffy. He was a veteran of the U S Army Air Corps, serving as a pilot during World War II. He was a member of Hump Pilots Assn., and Wilmington Warriors.
He is survived by his daughters Jan (Mark) Henderson of Los Lunas, NM, Dianne (Dave) Peters of Kent, OH, Lisa (Bill) Rocks of Lavale, MD; grandchildren, Cody and Logan Henderson; Carolyn Peters; Kristin Rocks and fiancé Doug Wise; Bryan (Nicole) Rocks; great-grandchild and namesake Owen Rocks; brothers John (Mavis) Duffy of Halifax and Richard Duffy of Louisville, KY; godson, Michael Tierney; and special friend Louise Sheldon.
He was preceded in death by his wife Alicia (Kocks) Duffy, his sister, Margaret Knott, and parents, John and Elizabeth Duffy.
The family will receive friends 3-5 and 7-9 PM Monday September 16th, 2013 at Bissler and Sons Funeral Home 628 West Main Street, Kent. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 9:30 AM Tuesday, September 17th, 2013 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church 342 S Chillicothe Road Aurora, Oh, with Father James Daprile officiating. Burial will be held Tuesday at 2:00 PM at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the Owen M. and Alicia K.
