Pamela A. Wolford

Pamela A. Wolford, age 72, of Kent, OH, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Sunday, January 19, 2025 at her home.

Pamela was born August 30, 1952 in Ravenna, OH to the late Alvin and Rose (Slama) Bachtel. She grew up in Kent and graduated from Kent Roosevelt High School. She pursued higher education with dedication, earning a Bachelors degree from the University of Akron and a Masters from John Carroll University. Pamela devoted her career to teaching, retiring in 2012 after years of shaping young minds as a middle and elementary school teacher. Her passion for education continued as she later worked as an aid for children with special needs until October 2023.

She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Ralph Wolford Kent, OH; Daughter: Rebecca Wolford of Stow, Ohio; Sarah (Pete) Snyder of Stow, OH and Grandchildren: Noah Snyder, Elliana Snyder, Ariana Miller, Aiden Miller, and Emersyn Snyder. Brothers: Jim (Kathleen) Bachtel, Vernon(Carla) Bachtel, Alvin (Sandy) Bachtel. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alvin, and Rose Bachtel and her brothers Thomas and David Bachtel. Pamelas’ greatest joy was her family. 

She was a devoted grandmother who never missed a game, recital, or practice and became a loving ‘grandma’ to many of her grandchildren’s friends. Known for her generosity and boundless energy she was always the first to volunteer for carpools, shopping trips, or ice cream outings. Her love extended to her nieces, nephews, and students, all of whom she cared for deeply. Pamela’s unwavering love and dedication to those around her leave a lasting legacy. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. May her memory bring comfort to those she touched throughout her life.
