Patricia J. Moon, 76, of Millersburg, passed away Saturday, July 23, 2011 at Stow Glen Retirement Center in Stow, OH.
She was born August 16, 1934 in Ravenna, OH to Joseph and Mamie (Stringer) Chandler. Patricia earned her Bachelor's degree from Kent State University and went on to teach first grade in Elyria and Longcoy School in Kent, where she was a beloved first grade teacher, who was remembered by many of her students and their parents.
She was a member of The United Methodist Church of Kent, Millersburg United Methodist Church, Kent Garden Club, and Holmes County Garden Club. She loved working in her gardens and growing many flowers and herbs. She also had a love of books and especially enjoyed reading mysteries. She enjoyed spending time quilting, crocheting and doing needlepoint.
She loved all of her animals that she had over the years and leaves behind a special furry friend, Zoe, her black pug. She also had a deep love for her two grandchildren Amanda and Alysse, and said many times if she knew how much fun they were, she would have had them first. She taught them how to bake, sew and play beauty parlor. They affectionately called her "Moo Moo".
She is survived by son: David Moon of Streetsboro; daughters, Dana Moon of Ravenna, Kristen Moon of Wadsworth; granddaughters, Amanda Vespoint of Alliance and Alysse Vespoint of Ravenna. She was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Moon, sister, Rose Marie Dyer, father, Joseph Chandler and mother, Mamie Stringer.

Friends received 1 - 2 PM Friday July 29th, at Bissler & Sons Funeral Home, 628 West Main Street, Kent, where funeral services will be held at 2 PM, with Rev. Doug Denton officiating.
