Paul C. Kitchin Jr., 98, of Ravenna, died Friday, July 7, 2017, at home in Rootstown Township.
He was born October 18, 1918 in Missoula, MT to the late Paul Clifford and Agnis (nee Hatch) Kitchin.
He was a professor of political science at Kent State University. Founder of the Phi Delta Theta Fraternity and member No 1 in Ohio. A member of the Wranglers Association of Portage County, Rootstown Board, Portage Sheriff's Dept. under Senator Stockdale, and the Kent Lunch Bunch. Lifetime member of the Trout Fly Fisherman in Ohio, Michigan, and Wyoming.
He is survived by sons, Chris Kitchin of Ravenna, Paul (Laurie) Kitchin III of King George, VA; grandsons, Paul (Taylor) Kitchin IV of Denver, CO, and Bret (Stacey) Kitchin of Parma Heights; brother, Wendell Kitchin of Fife Lake, MI. He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia (Stackowicz) Kitchin.
The family will have a memorial service at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Kent State University Paul C. Kitchin Jr. PDT Scholarship Fund, and Animal Protective League, 8122 Infirmary Road, Ravenna, OH 44266. Bissler & Sons Funeral Home are handling the arrangements.
