Pearl Eidson, age 102, a resident of Stow Glen Nursing Facility, Stow, Ohio died Monday, April 7, 2014.
Pearl was born September 12, 1911, in Rudolph, Ohio to Joseph and Stella (Wagner) McDonald.
While living in Cygnet, Ohio, she was an active member of the Cygnet Methodist Church where she served as a Sunday school teacher and Camp Counselor. She was the leader of Girl Scout Troop #48. She was a seventy nine year member of Morris Chapter, The Order of Eastern Star, North Baltimore, Ohio, and served as Worthy Matron in 1948.
She moved to Lima, Ohio, in 1957, where she served as a board member of Rainbow Girls. From Lima she moved to Newark, Ohio, and later lived in Findlay, Ohio.
After moving to Kent in 1978, to be closer to family, she became a volunteer at Robinson Memorial Hospital and was a member of First Christian Church of Kent where she became a long time member of their quilting group.
Survivors include daughters, Betty Bursiek of Jacksonville, Florida and Linda Sandvoss of Sugar Bush Knolls, Ohio. There are five surviving grandchildren including Cathie (Joseph) Lyons, Julie D'hyvetter, Tim (Sharon) Bursiek, Christina (Joseph) Montrone, and Sharon Sandvoss; eight great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis M. Eidson; brothers, Merle and Clifford McDonald; grandson, Steven William Sandvoss and great great grandson, Alfred Joseph Drouin V; and sons-in-law, Norman Sandvoss Jr. and William Bursiek.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. at Bissler & Sons Funeral Home, 628 W. Main St. Kent, Ohio, where the funeral service will be held at 2 p.m.. A graveside service and interment will take place at Maple Grove Cemetery, Bowling Green, Ohio 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 12, 2014.
