Phyllis A. Battaglia, 75, of Brimfield, died Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at Summa Western Reserve Hospital in Cuyahoga Falls.
She was born February 21, 1938 in Kent to William Henry and Laura B. (Bancroft) Clapp. Phyllis owned and operated Battaglia's T & B Garden Center. She enjoyed quilting; playing bingo, and spending her winters in Florida.
She is survived by sons, Jim Laudermilk of Kent, Robert (Anita) Laudermilk of Windham, and Carl Battaglia of Cuyahoga Falls; daughter, Nancy Ratcliff of Aurora; eleven grandchildren,; many great grandchildren; brother, Jerry (Barbara) Clapp of Placitas, New Mexico; sister, Martha (Jim) Horning of Ravenna; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl in 2008; and brothers, Wendell Clapp, Robert Clapp, and Melvin Clapp.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, January 11th at Bissler & Sons Funeral Home with Fr. Richard Pentello officiating. The family will receive friends from 12-2 PM Saturday. Private burial will be held at Standing Rock Cemetery.
