Ralph Denzil "Denny" Boyles Jr. passed away unexpectedly on March 27, 2017 at the age of 65 from complications resulting from angioplasty surgery. By his side was his wife and companion of 45+ years, Susan Lynn Boyles (Ludick). He was a loving and caring husband, father, and brother as well as a good friend to many people. Beloved father of Jason D. Boyles (Shelly) of Madisonville, LA; Shane M. Boyles (Tondra) of Cumming, GA; and Christopher T. Boyles of Metairie, LA. Beloved grandfather of Kyle, Alexa, and Jake. He is also survived by his three siblings, Steve Boyles, Becky Moyseenko, and Todd Boyles, and numerous in-laws, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Ralph Denzil Boyles Sr. and his mother Imogene Grace Boyles (Eagle).
Denny was born and raised in Northeast Ohio. He was a graduate of Theodore Roosevelt High School class of 1970. He attended Kent State University before enlisting and serving in the United States Army. He recently retired from his long-time profession as a professional shorthand reporter. He spent the last 30+ years of his life as a resident of Southeast Louisiana. He loved the culture of Louisiana, especially the food and the fishing. He was an avid LSU sports fan. He loved to play golf but his true passion in life was his fishing camp located on Bayou Segnette. He spent many weekends fishing the bayou and surrounding waterways. He was an outstanding cook. He also loved dogs. Most importantly, he loved and enjoyed spending time with his family, especially with his three grandchildren who all loved and adored him. He will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
Calling hours will be held 5-6:30 PM Thursday, April 6th at Bissler & Sons Funeral Home in Kent where funeral services will be held 6:30 PM with Kevin O'Brien officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Wounded Warrior Project.
