Ralph D. Boyles
Ralph D. Boyles, 88, of Kent, died Monday, March 21, 2011 at Robinson Memorial Hospital in Ravenna.
He was born December 22, 1922 in Anmoore, WV to Donley E. and Ruth (Gain) Boyles. He was a graduate of Bridgeport High School, Bridgeport, WV.
Ralph served in the Civilian Conservation Corps and the U S Navy during WW II.
He was a member of the Kent VFW.
Ralph worked as a foreman at the City of Akron's Water Treatment Plant. He retired after 32 years of service. During his retirement, he enjoyed spending time with friends and family and traveling across the United States. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed bowling and playing cards. He will be remembered for his sense of humor and his love of storytelling, especially about his time in the Navy.
He is survived by sons-Ralph (Susie) Boyles, Jr. of Kenner, LA, Stephen R. Boyles of Kent, Todd (Anne) Boyles of Kent; daughter- Rebecca (Sylvester) Moyseenko of Kent; grandchildren-Jason (Shelly) Boyles, Shane (Tondra) Boyles, Christopher Boyles, Alexia Boyles, Stephen Boyles, Ian Boyles, Sean Boyles, Alec Boyles, Chelsea (Ben) Lehman, Abigail Moyseenko, and Roxanne (Scott) Hundzsa; five great-grandchildren; brother, Donald (Darlene) Boyles of Fairmont, WV; sister, Sue (Russ) Martin of Clarksburg, WV; brother-in-law, Everett Eagle; many nephews and nieces; close friend and companion, Evelyn Wiley of Brady Lake. He was preceded in death by his wife, Imogene "Jeannie" (Eagle) and sister, Pauline (Robert) Nutter.
Calling hours will be held 6-8 PM Thursday, March 24th at Bissler & Sons Funeral Home 628 West Main Street, Kent, where services will be held 10:00 AM Friday, March 25th, with Rev. David Pattee officiating. Burial will be held at Standing Rock Cemetery.
