Ralph Scott Paisley Jr., 75, of Kent, died Sunday, February 12, 2017.
He was born July 6, 1941 in Toronto, Ohio to Ralph Scott and Alice (Runyon) Paisley. His family owned and operated a funeral home in Toronto for many years. Ralph was a proud graduate of Bowling Green State Uiversity and the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science. Ralph was a fourth generation funeral director. He came to Kent in 1965 to work for Bissler & Sons Funeral Home and Bissler's Furniture Store. Later he joined the staff at Wood Kortright Funeral Homes. He was a member of the Kent JayCees, where he was very active in hosting the Jerry Lewis Telethon. He was honored to be named a JCI Senator. He is a Life Member of the Kent Elks Club. In later years he enjoyed travelling including trips to the Indy 500.
He is survived by his wife, Deb (Graham), whom he married 32 years ago; daughters, who were lovingly raised by their mother, Sandy, and her husband, Dick Tinker, Debi (Max) Berghammer of Phoeniz, AZ, Elinor (Greg) Quier of Kent, Jacqueline (Daniel) Peters of Brimfield; their children, Kira, Megan, Hanna, and Jason; sister, Elinor Foust of Ridgecrest, California; and brother-in-law, Ron Hendricks of Daytona, FL. He was preceded in death by his sister, Joan Hendricks.
