Raymond G. Gless, Sr., 89, of Rootstown, died Friday, June 15, 2012 at Kent Healthcare Center.
He was born July 15, 1922 in Kent, to George and Nellie (Souers) Gless. Ray was a veteran of the Army serving with the 945th Field Artillery Battalion during World War II. He loved to fish, hunt, garden and was a member of the Ohio Farm Bureau. He loved his farm and family and was very appreciated of the love and support of his children in his declining years.
He is survived by sons, Raymond G. (Christine) Gless, Jr. of Mesa, AZ and Robert L. (Debbie) Gless of Norton; daughter, Rosemarie (Chuck Fleming) Gless of Kent; grandchildren, Matthew, Joshua (Isabella), Sam (Amber), Benjamin, Luke and John Gless of Arizona, Nicholas Gless of Florida, Alexander (Katie) and Daniel George of Florida, Christie Fleming of Pennsylvania, Brian, Tiffany and Luke Thompson of Florida, Ricky (Amanda) and Amanda Gragg; four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Marie Ambrose; and brother, Dale Gless.
Calling hours will be held 5-7 PM Tuesday, June 19th at Bissler & Sons Funeral Home in Kent. Graveside services will be held 10:00 AM Wednesday, June 20th at Restland Cemetery with Fr. David Misbrener officiating. Burial will be held at Restland Cemetery.
