Richard E. Koch died on January 28, 2017 surrounded by his family. Devoted husband of Patricia (Davis). Rick and Patti met in junior high school, a teen-age romance that lasted 55 years. Loving father of Christopher (Marleny), Troy (Yildiz), Meredith (Justin), and Schuyler (Jenna). Proud grandfather of Ariel, Courtney, Noelle, Owen, Ricky, Kathryn, Avery, Grant, Juliet, and Teddy. Preceded in death by grandson William. Son of Ernest (deceased) and Elizabeth (Troyan). Brother of Kathryn (deceased) and Dale. Rick served in the USCG for four years. He was employed by General Electric as a fluorescent technician and was part of the team that developed the compact fluorescent bulb. Throughout his life Rick had many hobbies, including drawing and painting, building motorcycles, photography, ham radio, boomerangs, bonsai, jigsaw clock making, model airplane building, gardening and cooking. He will be greatly missed. Burial private. A celebration of life will be planned for summer.
