Richard M. Roszkowski "Poopers", 51, of Kent, died peacefully at home on his birthday, Friday, October 21, 2011, after a long courageous battle with brain cancer.
He was born October 21, 1960 in Ravenna, to Michael R. and Geraldine M. (Schafer) Roszkowski. Rick was a journeyman machinist for 30 years, and worked at the Chrysler Stamping Plant in Twinsburg. He enjoyed fly fishing, woodworking and riding his Harley Davidsons. Rick was a loving husband and a wonderful father who enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth (Hughes) Roszkowski, whom he married on June 19, 1982; daughters, Elena Roszkowski of Kent and Christine (Andrew) White of Westerville; mother, Geraldine (Schafer) Schafer of Cuyahoga Falls; brothers, Timothy Roszkowski of Dallas, TX and Jon Roszkowski of Stow; sisters, Diane Drewette of Kent, Christine Stevens of Dallas, TX and Lori Thomas of Lawrenceville, GA; mother-in-law, Roberta Roszkowski of Stow. He was preceded in death by his father, Michael Roszkowski.
Calling hours will be held 6-9 PM Tuesday, October 25 at Bissler & Sons Funeral Home in Kent. Funeral mass will be held 10:00 AM Wednesday, October 26 at St. Patrick Church in Kent. Burial will be held at Standing Rock Cemetery.
