Richard Eugene Walburn, 91, of Stow, died and joined his wife of 70 years, Virginia, on Friday, January 13, 2017, at Stow Glen Retirement Center.
He was born June 21, 1925 in Piqua to Hines A. and Eva M. (Miller) Walburn. Richard worked in Sales and as manager at Chef's Pantry. He was a member of the Tadmor Shrine, Scottish Rite 32nd Degree and the Stokes Lodge in Port Jefferson. He was a Past Master of Masonic Lodge #217 in Lena, Ohio. He had been a 4H leader. He was a Past President of AKCAN 29 Holiday Rambler Camping Club and Past State Manager of the State of Ohio for the Holiday Ramblers Travel Trailer Club.
He is survived by daughters, Cynthia (Bob) Jarrett of Ravenna and Gail (Bruce) Taylor of Monroe, GA; grandchildren, Kris (Kevin) Behel of Greensboro, NC, Bethany (Alan) Courtney of Timnath, CO, Jodie (Andy) Szudy of Mazomanie, WI, Jeff (Tammy) Jarrett of Ravenna, Jason (Kristen) Jarrett of Stow, and Jeremy (Jessica) Jarrett of Atwater; 17 great grandchildren; sisters, K. Suzanne (Marvin) Reid of Piqua and Sandra (Paul) Armbruster of Troy. He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia L. Walburn in January 2016; and sister, Dorothy L. Miller.
Memorial service will be held 1:00 PM Sunday, January 22 at Stow Glen Cedar Hall with Pastor Kim Barnett officiating. Private burial will be held in Piqua this summer. Memorials may be made to Stow Glen Retirement Center or Harbor Light Hospice, 724C Alpha Drive, Highland Heights, OH 44143.
