Richard Stanley "Gigi" Zalewski, 80, of Modadore, died Sunday, December 12, 2010 at his home. He was born December 7, 1930 in Cleveland to Stanley and Lillian (Wolski) Zalewski. He was employed by Melch's Food Service. Richard served in the 101st Airborne Division, U S Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the American Legion and VFW. He is survived by his wife, Ilona "Helen" (Csabi) Zalewski; son, Mark D. Zalewski of Mogadore; brother, Robert (Mary Ann) Zalewski of Kent; sisters, Rita (Sam) Macaluso of Phoenix, AZ, Loretta (Roy) Brugmann of Mantua, and Marcia (Vic) Reed of Mantua. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Michael Zalewski and Alan Zalewski; and sisters, Dorothy Zalewski and Delores Zalewski. Funeral services will be held 11:30 AM Wednesday, December 15th at St. Patrick Church 313 N. DePeyster Street, Kent with Father Richard Pentello officiating. Burial will be in Standing Rock Cemetery.
