"Rick" Emory Paul Wirick, 65, of Kent, passed away Wednesday, August 16, 2013 at his residence.
He was born February 9, 1948 in Cleveland to Curtis and Anna (Pavell) Wirick. Rick was a graduate of Windham High School. He was a veteran of the Army during the Vietnam War.
He worked at Filmco in Aurora for over forty years. After retiring, he enjoyed reuniting with his former coworkers.
Rick loved spending time with his grandchildren, daily walks, biking, hiking, camping, fishing, traveling, listening to music, reading, gardening, laughing with family and friends and appreciating a simple life in Kent. He was loved by many for his kindness and thoughtfulness.
He is survived by his daughters Angie (Michael Petelin) Wirick of Stow, Christie (Chris) Shelby of Ravenna; grandchildren, Kay Wirick, Allison Snyder, Jackson Shelby and Maya Shelby; brothers, Jess (Wannedia) Wirick of Windham and Ron (Karen) Wirick of Middlefield; sisters: Peggy Massary of Warren, Becky (Mike) Cook of Garrettsville, and Sally (Argile) Cogar of Ravenna.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Curt Wirick, and brother-in-law, Armand Massary.
Calling hours will be held 6-8 PM Tuesday, August 20th at Bissler & Sons Funeral Home 628 West Main Street, Kent, where funeral services will be held 10:00 AM Wednesday, August 21st with Kevin O'Brien officiating.
