Rita (Boehler) Murray

Rita M. Murray, 76, of Brimfield, passed away Friday, January 20, 2012 at Robinson Memorial Hospital.

She was born January 16, 1936 in Springfield, OH to Carl and Roma (Massie) Boehler.

After graduating from high school, Rita worked for the Hugo Basca Co. as a payroll clerk. On November 19, 1955, she married Robert J. Murray of Springfield, OH. They were married at the Fort Shafter Army Chapel in Honolulu, Hawaii. There she worked as a librarian. In 1960, they moved to Akron. While raising her children, she enjoyed teaching Sunday preschool at St. Matthews Church. After moving to Brimfield in 1971, she enjoyed assisting in scouts and 4H. Rita had many hobbies, which included gardening, crafting, and reading. After raising her family, she worked at Caring Home Help as a home health aide and enjoyed it immensely. In retirement, she and her husband, Robert, had many wonderful winter trips to Florida. They also had a great Euchre club. Above all, her family meant everything to her.

She is survived by her loving husband, Robert J. Murray; sons, Brian J. Murray of Castle Valley, UT, Philip (Ellen) Murray of Suffield; daughters, Sharon (Thomas) Gall of Zigzag, OR, Michelle (Randy) Slapnicker of Chardon; grandchildren, Rachel, Marissa, & Sarah Gall and Aiden & Ryan Slapnicker.

Private family services will be held. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 525 North Broad Street, Canfield, OH 44406.
