Robert (Bob) Bartels Sr. passed away Saturday July 25th 2015 at the age of 68.
The Friendship and Love between Bob and Beth is unmatched by any other. They are/were each other's rock. Their love and devotion will go on forever.
Bob loved his family more than anything else. His grandchildren and great grandchildren were his world.
Everyone knew Bob as a traveler (Gypsy, if you will). He would not allow his roots to set in any one place. Bob left his mark in every national memorial site. Bob loved the natural wonders of this country, to spend 26,000 miles on a motorcycle (alone), is a feat in itself.
Bob touched so many hearts with his wit and his charm. The detailed stories of his life, his travels and the people met will live on with those whom he told. Bob has seen more, done more and met more people than any 10 people one can think of.
A beloved Husband, Brother, Father, Grand pa, Great Grand Pa, and friend. His memories, humor, and stories will live on, in all of us, for many, many to come.
Bob is survived by his wife Beth; sons, Robert (J) (Debbie) Bartels of Tenn./NC and Chris (Kelley) Bartels of Ohio; step-sons, Dan (Carrie) Bonesteel of New York and Michael (Dianne) Bonesteel of New York;, 8 grand-children; and 5 great great-grandchildren; brothers, Paul (Betsy) Bartels of Florida and Richard "Dick" (Gena) Towne of Ohio; and sister, Julia (Flo) Towne of New York.
Military memorial services are to be held at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery on Monday August 24th at 930am.
