Robert D. Blackiston, 75, of Kent, Ohio, passed away on December 17, 2024. Born on March 31, 1949, in Baltimore, Maryland, Bob lived a life committed to providing for his family, hard work, and kindness.
A proud graduate of Stow High School, Class of 1967, Bob went on to serve his country with honor in the United States Army as a member of the 3rd Battalion, 18th Field Artillery Brigade during the Vietnam War.
Bob had a long and dedicated career with Sun Pipeline Company, where he worked as a Corrosion Technician for 30 years. Following his early retirement, his passion for motorcycles led him to BMW Motorcycles of Cleveland, where he enjoyed working as a parts manager and later in sales until 2020.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Blackiston and Edith Waters. He is survived by his daughter, Erin Blackiston of Kent, and his ex-wife, Vicki Blackiston (Polichena), with whom he maintained a lifelong connection. He is also survived by his two siblings, his brother, Don Blackiston, who was also his best friend and his wife, Anna, and his beloved sister Barbara Marshall and her husband Ed. He also left behind nieces and nephews he loved very much, Tonia, Jaime, Steven, Matt, Dasha, Brad and their families.
Bob especially loved riding motorcycles with his brother Don. His final ride on December 10th was a fitting tribute to his love of the open road. Above all, Bob will be remembered as a caring and supportive man who never hesitated to express his love.

In honoring his wishes, Bob will be cremated and there will be no formal services.
