Robert J. Clark, 79, of Hudson, died Saturday, February 6, 2010 at the Hospice Care Center in Copley. He was born December 24, 1930 in Delaware to Joseph and Catherine (Smith) Clark. He was a private investigator for Research Associates in Cleveland. He was a member of the Akron Claims Association and the United Church of Christ of Kent. He had been very active with the Center of Hope, the Hot Lunch Program at Kent Social Services, and the Phyllis Zumkehr Clothing Center. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth "Bobbie", whom he married on October 6, 1984; children, Jocelyn (Gary) Goodman of Kent, Matthew (Rhea) Clark of San Angelo, TX, Amy Clark of Kent, and Michael Clark of Kent; stepchildren, Beth (Craig) Hyle of Kent, Jay Maupin of Chicago, IL, and Krista (Dave) Szalay of Fairlawn; grandchildren, Eric (Jaime Howard) Goodman of Willoughby, Emily (Caleb Schjeldahl) Goodman of Kent, David (Brittany) Goodman of Ft. Knox, KY, Cole Clark of San Angelo, TX, Elaina Clark of San Angelo, TX, and Kianna Clark of San Angelo, TX; step-grandchildren, Laura (Shawn Wojtowicz) Hyle of Akron, Ben Hyle of Kent, Corey Hyle of Kent, Alex Szalay of Fairlawn, and Matthew Szalay of Fairlawn; siblings, Betty Jean (Andy) Dickerson of Jupiter, FL, Richard Clark of Daytona Beach, FL, and Mary Ann (Howard) Horn of Mentor. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Janet Cole Clark in 1981. Memorial services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday February 13th at United Church of Christ of Kent with Rev. David Pattee officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:30 until the time of the service.
