Robert W. Culbertson, 89, of Akron, died Wednesday, July 11, 2012 at Akron General Hospital.
He was born December 24, 1922 in Cuyahoga Falls, to Robert M. and Leila (Molster) Culbertson. Robert was a veteran of the Navy during WW II and was stationed in Iceland. He was a member of St. Patrick Church and was a Past Exalted Ruler of the Kent Elks. Robert was an amazing baker and a great Chef. He enjoyed ceramics and working on the computer. Robert also enjoyed working in his flower garden and yard.
He is survived by son, Ronald W. (Sandi) Culbertson of Akron; daughter, Sandra L. Bauman of Akron; Eight grandchildren; Thirteen great grandchildren; Five great great grandchildren; and special granddaughter, Tami Garro. He was preceded in death by his wife, Gloria Culbertson; daughter, Sheila Ray; son, R. Michael Culbertson; parents, Robert and Leila Culbertson, brother, James A. Culbertson, sisters, Marjorie A. Condos and Barbara J. Collins; and grandson, Tim Culbertson.
Calling hours will be held 2-4 and 7-9 PM Monday, July 16 at Bissler & Sons Funeral Home in Kent, where funeral services will be held 12:00 PM Tuesday, July 17. Burial will be held at Northlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association C/o Alzheimer's Research, 70 W.
