Robert DiMauro, 86, of Kent, beloved husband of Carmel Rita (Pappano) for 62 years, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving and devoted family on July 2, 2014.
Born on May 14, 1928 to Pasquale and Maria DiMauro. Robert is survived by his dear wife Carmel, whom he married on May 3, 1952, at St. Martha Church, Akron.
Deeply mourning the loss of their dad are his children, Bob (Jennifer Babcock), Cathy & Paul Sandella of Kent, and Carole & Tony Mendiola of Pittsburgh, PA. Papa Robert enjoyed spending time with the joys of his life, cherishing his grandchildren, Nicholas and Nina Mendiola, and his adorable great-granddaughter, Marlowe Kate Mendiola.
Robert retired from Spohn Plumbing Corporation and was a member of St Patrick Church, Local 219 Plumbers and Pipefitters, Knights of Columbus, The Italian Christopher Columbus Society, and the Associates of St Joseph of Archbishop Hoban High School. While growing up, Robert worked on the family farm and continued this passion as he planted his own vegetable garden each summer.
Robert is preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Joseph, John and Tony. He is survived by his brothers Danny of FL, Frank (Matilda) of Ravenna, Patsy (Antoinette) of Cuyahoga Falls, and sister-in-law, Gerry of Kent. Robert will always be remembered by Angelo, Alexandra, Cameron, Amy and Bryan Sandella, his nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Robert will forever remain in all of our hearts.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Bissler & Sons Funeral Home prior to the Mass 9:00-10:30AM. Mass of the Resurrection will be held 11AM, Monday, July 7 at St. Patrick Church, 313 N. Depeyster Street, with Rev. Father Richard Pentello officiating.
