Robert A. Ferry Jr., 68, of Kent, Ohio lost his battle with multiple medical conditions and disabilities on October 31, 2020 at UH Portage Hospital in Ravenna.
Bobby was born on January 3, 1952 at Fort Sill, Oklahoma to Robert A. Ferry Sr. and Gloria (Bianchi) Ferry where his father was stationed while serving in the United States Army. After a lifetime of challenges, Bobby faced them with smiles, hugs, and kind emotions, but his broken body could take no more.
Bobby participated in the Special Olympics every year winning a medal for throwing the ball the farthest. He loved going to the workshop, Constant Companion day program, picnics, music, cartoons and most of all puppies and dogs.
Our hearts are full of sadness and are broken. We will miss his smiles and loving spirit. Mourning the loss of Bobby is his mother, Gloria Ferry; sisters, Linda(Jim) McColloch, Diana Sferra, Carole(Don) Rogers, brothers, Stephen(Lisa) Sferra Sr. and Vincent Sferra; niece, Nicole Hill(Jason Doyle), nephews, Stephen Jr., Vincent, Dominic, Anthony, Nicholas and Antonio Sferra; and great niece, Jordan Smith and uncle, Robert Bianchi.
Preceding Bobby in death were his father, Robert Ferry Sr. (1984), grandparents, Edward and Mary Bianichi, Frank and Pauline Ferry, uncles, David Bianchi and Edward (Virginia) Ferry. Bobby also leaves behind many loving cousins, caregivers, friends and those he loved.
The family would like to thank Rev. Father Richard Pentello for all his blessings and prayers for Bobby, the staff of New Leaf Residential (Meg Ferlin) and Karisa Hough of Portage County MRDD and Mr. Tom Jacobs who made a dream come true. We have comfort knowing he is with God as one of his Angels.
