Robert Clinton Hale, 87, born February 18, 1937, died peacefully on November 24, 2024. Papa Bob, as so many people called him, was a devoted husband to Germaine Hale (Pecquet) for 59 years. Together, they raised their three children, Lisa Kolo (Hale), Catherine Cary, and John. He was also a proud grandfather to five grandchildren: Taylor, Alexis, Rachel, Ryan, and Matthew.
Robert served his country as a Radar Operator in the Navy working on three different submarines. His civilian career began at AT&T where he remained for 26 years. Following his time at AT&T, Bob dedicated many years to teaching at Purcell Marian and McNicholas High Schools. Bob believed in giving back to the community and volunteered at soup kitchens, the Cincinnati Zoo, and the Cincinnati Museum Center. Papa Bob was an avid soccer fan. He coached many of his children's soccer teams, eventually leading him to become a referee. As a referee, he earned the level of National Referee. He enjoyed watching the game, and he would go to FC Cincinnati and the Women's National Team games.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Neil and Margaret Louis (Enell), and his siblings, Durwood Neil and Melvin Douglas. His family and friends will deeply miss Papa Bob. In lieu of flowers, donations to St Jude are appreciated.
In honoring his wishes, Robert will be cremated, and he will be laid to rest at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
