Robert Wayne Keener, 55, of Kent, died Monday, June 25, 2012 at Alliance Community Hospital.
He was born December 10, 1956 in Zanesville, to Floyd Wayne and Joan (Crawmer) Keener. He graduated from Zanesville High School, where he lettered in both football and basketball. Bob attended Kent State University where he played basketball. Bob was employed at I. Schuman for over 30 years. He was a member of the United Methodist Church of Kent. Bob was an avid sports fan, a supporter of Kent Roosevelt Athletics and his beloved Cleveland Browns. He loved playing golf and was a member of the Farmbrook Golf League. Bob was a family man who enjoyed being with others and making people laugh.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara (Addams) Keener, whom he married on August 23, 1980; son, Bobby Keener; daughters, Casey L. Keener and Christine Keener; granddaughters, Leona and Ella Chambers; mother, Joan (Crawmer) of Zanesville; and brother, John (Joan) Keener of Athens. He was preceded in death by his father, F. Wayne Keener.
Calling hours will be held 2-4 and 6-8 PM Friday, June 29th at Bissler & Sons Funeral Home and Crematory in Kent and private funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 30th with Reverend Doug Denton.
