Robert James Rydbom, 77, of Palmyra Township, has gone home to be with the Lord Tuesday, September 17, 2013 at his residence.
He was born February 14, 1936 in Allegheny County, PA to Richard and Loretta (Klinger) Rydbom Sr. Robert worked for GM Lordstown for 33 years.
He had much enjoyment taking care of his ostrich farm. He loved to garden, play golf and spend the winter in Florida. His grandkids were his pride and joy. And, he enjoyed fellowship with everyone.
He is survived by his wife, Kaye (Frinkley) Rydbom, whom he married on December 7,1957; son, Kim (Louella) Rydbom of Deerfield; daughter, Julie (William) Croop of Lake Milton; grandchildren, James Deuley, Collin Croop, and Jensen Croop; brothers, Richard (Betty) Rydbom Jr. of Kent, Calvin (Gladys) Rydbom of Stow, Charles Rydbom of Baytown, TX, and David (Darlene) Koesel of Lakeland, FL; sisters, Rea Bowen of Carlsbad, CA, Ellen (Robert) Rankin of Dagsboro, DE, Audrey (Don) Schauer Hayward, CA, Roma (John) Henderson Golfport, MS, Georgia (Charles) Waltman of Wiggins MS, and Loretta Smith of Cuyahoga Falls.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Adora Stout.
Calling hours will be held 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM Sunday, September 22nd at Akron Seventh Day Adventist Church, 655 E Waterloo Rd Akron, OH 44306, where a celebration of life service will be held at 2:00 PM with Pastor Jerry Chase officiating. Graveside services will then be held at 5PM at Grandview Memorial Park, 5400 Lakewood Road, Ravenna.
