Robert "Tim" Baker Graham

Robert “Tim” Baker Graham, passed away on Thursday, April 25, 2024 after a lengthy illness.  Tim was born on December 22, 1947 at Akron City Hospital where his grandfather was a member of the Board of Trustees.

Tim was the owner and president of the family business, R.C. Graham Co. LLC, manufacturer of the Hand-Tite Wingnut test plug.  “Best test plug in the known universe,” he would say.

Tim was an exemplary father and husband.  His knowledge of history and all manner of science, books of any kind, films, travel, and love of animals including his beloved horses and cats, made him exciting to all who held a conversation with him.  His diverse love of good food from various and unique cultures was a highlight of his life.  He was a great cook.  Always with a great sense of humor, he was able to bring a relaxing laugh to friends, family and strangers alike.

Tim became a member of the Cleveland Grays in 1986. He served as President in 1995-1996.  He was very proud of the Armory, and the Soldiers and Sailors Monument in Public Square.

Later in life, he was a proud and active member of the Sons of the Union Veterans of the Civil War for which he was Camp Commander 1999-2000 and 2010-2011.  Tim was also Department of Ohio Commander 2014.

Tim graduated from Valley Forge Military Academy in Pennsylvania, class of 1966.  He was 2016 Alumnus of the Year.

His hobbies included expertise in sharing his passion of history including the scale construction of ship models.  Tim made his father-in-law’s WWII Navy Fletcher Class Destroyer USS Bearss.

Tim was preceded in death by his parents, Robert C. Graham and Gara Baker Graham; and his sister Gara Graham Jr.

He is survived by his wife Barbara and their two children, Laura and RC Graham.

Friends and family may call on THURSDAY, May 9, 2024 from 10:00am-12:00PM at Bissler and Sons Funeral Home and Crematory, 628 W. Main St. Kent, OH 44240.  Funeral services will follow at 12:00PM on THURSDAY at the funeral home.  Graveside services will be at Standing Rock Cemetery following the services.  Donations and flowers are appreciated by the family.
