Ronald C. Mohlmaster I “Senior”, 85, of Akron, passed away on Sunday, April 4, 2021. He was born in Akron on October 31, 1935 to the late Clarence and Alma Mohlmaster. He was a graduate of Akron Bible Institute and the University of Akron with a degree in Psychology. Ron proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1954-1966 and in the National Guard. He was employed by the United States Government as a nuclear engineer. Ron was a quality assurance specialist with Babcock and Wilcox and Goodyear Aerospace. He was also a retired pastor, pastoring several churches in Ohio and Virginia. While in Virginia, Ron was an EMT with the Gladstone Volunteer Fire Department, a position he truly loved. He was an active member and minister at The Church on the Boulevard and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his parents, Ron was preceded in death by two sons, Thomas Harley Mohlmaster and Bryan Keith Mohlmaster and his sister Marilyn.
He leaves his loving wife Patricia, whom he married on June 15, 1954; children, Ronald C. (Mary Jo) Mohlmaster II, Karen E. (Dennis) Grund, Reese (Cathy) Mohlmaster and Carole (Mark) Smith; daughters-in-law Michele Mohlmaster and Lisa Ann Mohlmaster; grandchildren, Teresa (Shane), Aaron, Katie (Tony), Tommy II (Stephanie), Patty Jo (Jeremy), Ronnie (Amanda), Deanne, Kenda, Bryan II, Heather (John), Justin (Almeda), Precious (Malachi), Misti (Nelson II), Kailee (Ricky), Elyssa (Jeff), Justin (Tammy), Jared, Todd (Kryste) and Brent (Kameryn); many loved great grandchildren and great great grandchildren and his sister Linda (Don) Arnold.
Calling hours will be Friday from 4:00PM-8:00PM at Bissler and Sons Funeral Home, 628 W. Main St. Kent, OH 44240. Funeral services will be Saturday at 2:00PM at The Church on the Boulevard, 754 Kenmore Blvd. Akron, OH 44314, with his son, Pastor Ronald C. Mohlmaster II officiating. Doors will open at 1:00PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Church on the Boulevard Food Pantry.
