Ronald M. Wartko, 79, of Suffield, died Saturday, December 29, 2012.
He was born May 4, 1933 in Akron, to Peter E. and Bertha (Bennett) Wartko. Ronald was a heavy equipment operator. He was a member of St. Joseph Church in Randolph, Knights of Columbus, and the Ohio Operating Engineers.
He is survived by his wife, Terri Deeken, whom he married on April 1, 1995; sons, Rick (Karen) of Kansas City, KS and Steve (Susan) of Akron; daughters, Rose Anne (David) Jesenovec of Willowick, Susan (Al) Rast of Cuyahoga Falls, Sandra Batsios of Ocena City, MD, Rhonda (Lonnie) Bryan of Randolph and Ruth (Rick) Ingram of Conyers, GA; step-sons, John (Nancy) of Pittsburgh, PA, William (Kris) of Akron, Bryan (Tracy) of Wooster and Eric (Sheri) Deeken of Akron; numerous grand and step-grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Agnes (Wohlwend) Wartko; brother, Telford; twin brother, Donald; sisters, Thelma Domboski and Becky Gilreath; and step-daughter, Marianna Deeken.
Calling hours will be held 5-7 PM Wednesday, January 2nd at Bissler & Sons Funeral Home in Kent, and 10-11 AM Thursday, January 3rd at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 2643 Waterloo Road, Mogadore, where the funeral mass will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, with Fr. Thomas Acker S.J. officiating. Burial will be held at St. Joseph's Cemetery.
