Rosemarie Mandalari

March 31, 1935 — July 4, 2014

Rosemarie Mandalari, our much loved mother and grandmother, passed away, at 79, with the love of her family surrounding her, at SUMMA Akron City Hospital on July 4, 2014. Stephen and Rosemarie are now together with our Lord.

Rosemarie was born March 31, 1935 in Ravenna. She graduated from Ravenna High School. She married her soul mate, Stephen Mandalari, on November 21, 1954 and they spent 60 incredible years together with their 4 daughters and their families. She leaves behind her children, Julie (Alan) Spalding, Jean (Tom) Geopfert, Joyce (James) Bowen, Jackie (William) Reilly, and her grandchildren, who were the light of her life, Lauren, AJ, Haley & Stephen Spalding, Frank & Maria Bowen, Rachel & Regina Reilly.

Rosemarie worked at Huntington Bank and Theodore Roosevelt High School in Kent. The most important "job", for her, was being a wife, a mom and a grandmother. She was tirelessly devoted to her faith, her family and her friends. She loved to sew and enjoyed making her daughters matching outfits for Christmas and Easter. She loved to make pasta for Sunday dinners. She loved to "get up and go" with dad to visit friends and family by car or by plane. She loved to play the accordion and she loved to dance, especially the polka. You rarely saw Rosemarie without Steve. He wore the suit and she wore the sparkle. The sparkle was always in her clothes, in her smile and in her eyes.

Her life was filled with countless acts of kindness and works of charity. She was a lifelong member of St. Patrick Parish in Kent. She worked, alongside her husband, for The American Heart Association, Local Hospital Blood Banks, Retired Senior Volunteers and KentFest. She was also a member of Infant Jesus of Prague Guild, UAW Auxiliary and Kent Junior Women's Club. She was the family matriarch and the biggest cheerleader for her grandchildren when they formed the Kids 4 Coleman which focuses on fund raising and support for Coleman Adult Day Services.

"A golden heart stopped beating, a determined spirit was at rest, God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best."

Stephen and Rosemarie are now together as our angels watching over us. They are free to see and enjoy and dance and celebrate. We will miss them deeply. We will love them eternally. Salute to the best parents any children could ever be so blessed to have.
