Rosemary B. Bush (O'Brien), 80, of Kent, went home to be with the Lord and her husband James on Saturday, April 12th, 2014. Rosemary was born June 25, 1933 in Kent to the late Joseph and Helen (Kline) O'Brien.
Rosemary lived in Kent her entire life, attending St. Patrick School and graduating from Kent Roosevelt High School. She worked for C.L. Gougler Machine, where she met her husband, James. Prior to the birth of her first child, George, she became a stay at home mom, where was entrusted with the day to day running of the household and driving her children to their various activities. She never complained once about her duties and always did them with a smile.
Rosemary was a member of St. Patrick's Parish in Kent, where she could always be found in the same pew at the Sunday 9:00 A.M. mass.
Rosemary is survived by her children, George (Mary Lynn) Bush of Kent, Mary Jane (Douglas) Nelisse of LaGrange, James Bush of Kent, and Patricia (Robert) Lynch of Cuyahoga Falls; grandchildren, Cory (Carissa), Ryan and Megan Nelisse, Alyssa, Lauren, Michael and Sarah Bush, Maria and Zachary Bush, Brandon and Hannah Lynch; and great grandchildren, Gage, Jaycee, and MyKelti Nelisse. She is also survived by sisters-in-law, Ruth Hartung and Betty Vance and by many loving nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
In addition to her parents, Rosemary was preceded in death by her husband, James; sisters, Marie Fortin and Ann O'Brien; and brother, George O'Brien.
Rosemary was a loving and caring person whose family meant the world to her. After the death of her husband, her life centered around the numerous activities of her children, grandchildren and most recently her great grandchildren. She could always be seen around the ball fields, gymnasiums and school auditoriums watching her family participate in their athletic events or various school activities. To the many coaches and friends of her grandchildren, she was simply "Grandma Bush".
Rosemary was a diehard Notre Dame Football fan, a passion handed down from her father, Joe. She would never miss a televised game. She was proud to be Irish and proud to be a Fighting Irish fan. She was also an Indians, Cavaliers and Browns fan. When she wasn't attending her grandchildren's events, she was watching sports on TV. She could recap the game for you if you missed it.
Rosemary loved her trips to the Mountaineer Casino with her nieces and nephew. She also made daily trips to the store to buy groceries or her lottery tickets, where she would run into many friends.
Calling hours will be held 2-4 and 6-8 PM Tuesday, April 15th at Bissler & Sons Funeral Home in Kent. Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM Wednesday, April 16th at St. Patrick Church with Father Richard Pentello and Fr. David Halaiko officiating. Burial will be held at Standing Rock Cemetery.
