Rosemary Ann Hammer, 88, of Aurora, died Saturday, May 27, 2017.
She was born August 20, 1928 in Randolph, to Henry J. and Theresa L. (May) Schrader. Rosemary was a 1942 graduate of St. Joseph School in Randolph and received her Bachelor of Science from Kent State. Rosemary was the First Married Woman Teacher at Shaw High School in East Cleveland. She also taught sewing at Helen S. Brown Senior Center in East Cleveland.
She is survived by sons, Gregory (Kathleen) Hammer of Worthington, Timothy (Leslie) Hammer of Ocean City, NJ and Eric (Richard Skerl) Hammer of Avon Lake; daughters, Renee (Steven) Zuponcic of Solon and Mary Lynn (Paul) Phillips of Aurora; grandchildren, Brent (Kate) Hammer, Adam (Sidney) Hammer, Kristen (Joe) Kenny, Nick (Melody) Hammer, Mark (Chiara) Hammer, Jacqueline (Rich Taylor) Zuponcic, Jessica Zuponcic, Megan, Katie, Michael and Ellie Phillips; great grandchildren, Alexandra and Sophia Hammer, Ava and Nora Hammer, Everett Hammer, Isla and Maisie Kenny and Evelyn Taylor; brothers, Fr. Jim Schrader of Carthegena, Hank (Jean) Schrader of Stow and Donald (Ardella) Schrader of Louisville; sisters, Martha Gardner of Doylestown and Jean (Stan) Koczur of Randolph. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Hammer; brother, William Schrader; sisters, Germaine Kline, Rita Flanagan and Dolores Schrader.
Calling hours will be held 2-4 and 6-8 PM Tuesday, May 30th at Bissler & Sons Funeral Home in Kent and Wednesday from 10-11 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 2643 Waterloo Road, Mogadore. Funeral mass will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, May 31st at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Fr. Thomas Acker officiating. Burial will be held at St. Joseph's Cemetery.
