Ruth Frances Ambrose, 101, of Wooster, died Sunday, May 15, 2016 at Wooster Community Hospital.
She was born May 25, 1914 in Kent to Park and Ruth (Flanagan) Smith. She was employed as an Account Clerk at The Wright Stores in Kent and then retired as a Research Assistant at Kent State University Library.
She is survived by son, Thomas (Patricia) Ambrose of Grand Blanc, MI; daughter, Carole (William) Erdos of Creston; grandchildren, Wendy Erdos Padgett of Bath, Kara Erdos Andrew of Creston, Stacia (Charles) Littleton of North Lima, Park (Kathrine) Ambrose of Ypsilanti, MI, and Alicia (Eric) Young of Seattle, WA; great grandchildren, Sydney, Emerson, Jacob, Clayton, Charli, Seth, Alexandra, and Kayla; brothers, Richard (Sylvia) Smith of Kent and Thomas (Norma) Smith of Ravenna; and sisters, Dorothy Moore of Welcome, NC, Rita Moore of Hudson, FL, Roseann (Charles) Maurer of Strongsville, and Jane (Edward) Thomas of Kent. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas in 1985; infant daughter, Linda Ambrose; sisters, Elizabeth May, Virginia Gathings, Paula Hausman, and Lutie Mae Burrell; brothers, William Smith, Park Smith Jr., Robert Smith, and James Smith.
Graveside services will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, May 19 at Standing Rock Cemetery with Father Richard Pentello officiating.
Ruth loved her family more than anything in the world.
