Ruth L. Beyers, 94, of Brimfield, died Wednesday, January 3, 2018, at her home.
She was born May 1, 1923 in Akron to Clarence Elwood and Lula Mae (Hollen) Slaubaugh. She was a 1941 graduate of Akron's James A. Garfield High School and took business courses at Hammel Business School. She worked as a bookkeeper for both Goodyear and Firestone and later for Sealtest Ice Cream in Stow. In the 1960's, she sold real estate for Gault Realty in Akron. She then began a 30 year career as a Master Tax Preparer with H&R Block attaining Enrolled Agent status.
In 1942, she married the love of her life, Raymond L. Beyers and they had four children, Claudia (Gary) Bissler, Linda (Rickey) Foster, Patricia (Roger) Duvall, and David R. (Sandra) Beyers. Ray and Ruth had eight grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren, and eight great great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Paul W. Slaubaugh, Sr., of Stow.
Ruth enjoyed travelling, camping, and boating with her family and also loved bowling and playing golf when able. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, three sisters, two brothers, grandson, and two great grandsons.
Cremation has taken place. Memorial services will be held 1:00 PM Friday, January 12th at First Freedom Baptist Church with Pastor Daniel Alexoff officiating. The family will receive friends one hour before the services at the church. Interment will be held at a later date at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman.
